Botox
Botulinum Toxin Type A, according to many people is an exciting way of treating wrinkles. However the treatment which is known as Botox has been used over the years to treat other cosmetic conditions such as muscle spasms on the face. This is what led to it being recognized as a treatment that can treat facial wrinkles.
What is Botox? It is just one brand of the Botulinum Toxin Type A that is produced by the bacteria clostridium botulinum. This product is produced by the Allergan, Inc., a global specialty pharmaceutical company. The bacteria are considered harmful and life threatening and can lead to muscle paralysis or weakness. However Botox treatment is quite safe especially when used in small doses and injected directly to a specific area. At MyMedyk we use Dysport and Azzalure produced by Ipsen.
Beauty Treatments. Dr Agnes Roszyk.
She graduated from the Silesian Medical Academy in Wroclaw. For many years does the treatments with the use of dermatological fillers and Botox. Dr Roszyk has British certificate for aesthetic medicine treatments. She constantly raises her skills by attending courses and trainings in the UK.
How Botox Works?
Botox works by blocking the release of a chemical messenger (neurotransmitter) which is formally known as acetylcholine. This neurotransmitter found in the nerve cells usually transmits a nerve impulse to a muscle cell and causes it to contract. With the absence of acetylcholine the muscle cell is weakened leading to paralysis of the muscle. The Botox injection is restricted to the area under treatment simply because the effect is temporary and the nerve fibers have the capability of regenerating after a few months.

It's impossible to know what is right for you without a consultation with our doctor, but this list is meant to give you a rough outline of some of the options:
1. Injectable treatments (i.e. Botox, Dysport)
BOTOX® is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time.

|
Botox and Dysport targets nerves that are connected to muscle. It blocks the chemical communication between the nerves and the muscle. Each treatment is performed by injecting the Botox with a very fine needle into the specific muscle. Immediately after the treatment you may resume regular activities. |

Laser skin treatment can be used for redness, age & brown spots, spider veins on the face, discoloration, wrinkles and fine lines, as well as some sagging. There are a wide range of laser options from non-ablative therapies to fractional devices to full facial resurfacing. You need to ask an expert which can review the options and let you know what's best in your particular case.
At the moment we do not offer any laser treatments in Medyk.
Microdermabrasion is a family of cosmetic procedures popular in day spas, doctors' practices, and medical spas in which the dead outermost surface of the skin is partially or completely removed by light abrasion, to remove sun-damaged skin and to remove or lessen scars and dark spots on the skin.
Microdermabrasion can be used medically for scar removal when the scar is raised above the surrounding skin, but is less effective with sunken scars. There is very little, if any, evidence that microdermabrasion stimulates collagen formation. Microdermabrasion can also be used for treatment of acne, but must be repeated periodically to be effective. Microdermabrasion should not be used on patients who have taken the medication Accutane in the previous twelve months.
The treatment is usually painless and doesn't irritate the skin greatly. All patients will experience some tightness and redness of the skin, which may last for an hour or two following treatment.
On occasions, redness or streaking of the skin may continue for a day or so and sensitive skin around the eyes can become swollen, but cold compresses will help to get rid of this side effect.
Deeper treatments aimed at scar tissue or stretch marks may produce some spotting of blood, with healing taking around 3 - 4 days.
There is a very small risk of mild pigment changes to the skin that generally clear up within a month, and the risk of any scarring is very rare with this procedure.
At the moment we do not offer microdermabrasion in Medyk.
