RADIOLOGY
RADIOLOGY
- Digital tooth X-ray in all projections;
- Panoramic X-rays.
DIGITAL TOOTH X-RAYS IN ALL PROJECTIONS
This type of X-ray is in fact necessary in all dental specialities, from the detection of carious lesions in conservative dentistry to the assesssment of the degree of implant osteo-integration. Tooth X-rays provide the most information on the condition of individual teeth and features the highest accuracy in the imaging of details.
PANORAMIC X-RAYS
The panoramic technique allows the simultaneous imaging of the whole dentition, jaw bones and adjacent structures on the image, at the radiation dose equivalent to 4-5 tooth Xrays. Despite the lower accuracy of these tooth X-rays, panoramic views allow a general assessment of the condition of all the teeth to be made, which explains their great usefulness in the diagnostic process, planning of the treatment and assessment of results. The advantages of panoramic X-rays also include the lack of discomfort to the patient, the possibility of examing a patient unable to open his or her mouth, and the fact that the image obtained is clear and understandable for the patient.
